Sheila Clements has over twelve years experience providing individual, marriage and group counselling in both the public and private sector. She earned a Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus on mental health and addictions. She also holds a Bachelors degree in Social Work and is a Registered Social Worker with the British Columbia College of Social Work. Additionally, she is a member of the British Columbia Association of Social Workers. Sheila has a great passion for her work as a clinician and has an incredible toolkit. She is a very caring, compassionate, dedicated and ethical clinician. Clients enjoy working with her.

Sheila believes in lifelong learning. Her post-graduate education includes a certificate in Basic Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training as well as a certificate in advanced EMDR training with children and adolescents. She attended the 2011 EMDR International Association Annual Conference in Southern California called “Healing the Many Faces of Trauma” for additional advanced EMDR training. Sheila has also earned certificates in Level 1 and Level 2 training with the Gottman therapeutic approach for marriage counselling, the only evidence-based technique developed specifically for relationship counselling. Sheila also holds a certificate in advanced, intensive cognitive behavioural therapy training with Dr. David D. Burns, author of numerous best-selling books including Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy and When Panic Attacks.

Sheila is a long time resident of the South Okanagan having arrived in 1967. She had a ten year hiatus in Vancouver, but returned home where she has raised her four children. When she is not working or enjoying time with her kids, she has an interest in holistic health and physical fitness and loves touring the Great Northwest with her husband on their motorcycle. Occasionally she manages to find time to volunteer for a local non profit agency that facilitates personal growth and healing. Sheila is currently taking new referrals.
